Last event in the Centenary Year of Pádraic Fiacc’s birth

The last event in the Centenary Year of Pádraic Fiacc’s birth happened on Saturday 25 January. It was the launch of TURAS FILÍOCHTA- a collection of 36 poems juxtaposed side by side in English and Irish. The original poems by Fiacc were translated into Irish by 17 of the foremost Irish writers throughout Ireland. Marcas Ó Murchú who translated two poems in the book observed that “The reader is encouraged to ponder nature’s wonders poetry itself and his (Pádraic Fiacc’s) search for simplicity and truth in life”.The launch took place in Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich on Saturday 25th January.
