PropertyPal Awards 2023

The PropertyPal Awards, sponsored by Danske Bank, were recently held in Titanic Belfast.

The awards ceremony was led by hosts Mark Simpson and Claire McCollum.

Guests enjoyed a drinks reception, followed by a three-course meal and entertainment.

Law Society Dinner

The magnificent Culloden Estate was the venue for the Law Society of Northern Ireland’s annual dinner. Over 200 solicitors attended the dinner, including newly admitted solicitors, and guests enjoyed the opportunity to mingle with colleagues.

Guests heard speeches from the Society’s new president, Darren Toombs, and His Honour Judge Philip Gilpin, who reflected on the value of the legal profession to the community. 

During his keynote address, the Society’s new president welcomed the newly admitted solicitors and outlined his passion for supporting those wishing to become solicitors in Northern Ireland. Representatives from the Society’s charity of the year, the ‘Boom Foundation’, also spoke about their work and the year ahead.

Business Breakfast

The Publicity Association of Northern Ireland (PANI) recently hosted a business breakfast in Riddell Hall, Belfast sponsored by Belfast City Airport.

The breakfast addressed the OFCOM Media Nations Report which gave those in attendance an insight into the latest media trends in NI.

Among those in attendance were Tony Axon of Navigator Blue and James Stinson of OFCOM.

Come to the Cabaret

An intimate cabaret evening was hosted in the Belfast Hebrew Congregation, at Fortwilliam, north Belfast, in early November.

NI Opera provided a magical evening of live entertainment.

In attendance were Dr Katy Radford MBE (Chair of the Northern Ireland Committee of the British Council) and PSNI Assistant Chief Constable Chris Todd.

60 Years of McAdam

This year marked a significant milestone for McAdam as they celebrated 60 years in practice.

During this time, they have expanded from a small engineering consultancy into one of Northern Ireland’s largest multi-disciplinary practices working across a wide range of sectors.

Earlier this month they were delighted that so many of their key clients, long-standing business partners, senior staff and past directors were able to join them at their recently completed, award-winning, Templemore Baths project which hosted the company celebrations.

Madison’s Gala Ball

Madison’s Gala Ball was recently held at the Titanic Museum, Belfast.

NI Children’s Hospice Youth Ambassador, Madison Wright, held the fundraising extravaganza in memory of her friend Noah who sadly passed away in 2019 due to the life-limiting, genetic diseases, Leukodsytrophy.

Pinnacle was the platinum sponsor for the evening.

Campbell College Reunion Ball

In late October, past pupils of Campbell College were treated to a three-course meal, at the school, on the Belmont Road, Belfast.

The Old Campbellians were welcomed by drums and bagpipes at a pre-dinner reception in the dining hall and after dinner another live band entertained.

The meal was provided by Posh Nosh.

Among those in attendance were Robbie Diack, South African-born former Irish Rugby player, and Robert Robinson, the Head Master of Campbell College.

ACA Christmas Party

ACA models kicked off the festive celebrations on Friday 17th November with their glamorous Christmas party at Revolution De Cuba.

The night included entertainment from Northern Lights Event Hire with their immersive 360-video booth and sumptuous cocktails by the talented bartenders at Revolution De Cuba.

Victoria Withers, the managing director of ACA models, expressed her joy, “It was a fantastic night for everyone – a wonderful way to celebrate another successful year with our incredible models, dedicated staff and valued clients.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made it a memorable evening.

The Oval Ball

The Oval Ball took place on the night of the Rugby World Cup Final, which saw South Africa defeat New Zealand.

The night started with a welcome from Kenn Nelson and Leslie Hughes OBE, followed by a dinner, auction, fundraising games, entertainment by comedian Rod Woodward and music by Pure Blarney and Irish Entertainment.

The event raised money for Cancer Fund for Children, Cancer Focus and NIPANC.

Ross’s Auctions Celebrates 100 Years

Ross’s Auctioneers and Valuers recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, following a significant investment in its Grade B listed building in Montgomery St. Belfast.

Led by Daniel and Angus Clarke, Ross’s has built its reputation on sales of Irish art, antiques, quality furniture, high-end jewellery, gemstones and watches.

To mark the centenary, Ross’s hosted a party for customers, friends and media which featured an exhibition of works by Irish artist, Noel Murphy, and displays of iconic auction items including a gold bracelet once owned by Elizabeth Taylor, paintings by Gerard Dillon and Colin Middleton and a captain’s chair from the Titanic.

Lyric Theatre’s New Season Launch

‘Tis the season…for the launch of another exciting new season at the Lyric Theatre, Belfast.

Whilst the winter weather whipped up a storm outside, inside the theatre’s cafe there was a hint of spring in the air.

After a successful 2023 season, guests such as playwright Owen McCafferty and radio presenter Ibe Sesay gathered to hear more about what will be on offer in 2024.
