On Saturday 14th November, festival-goers observed Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights.
Belfast’s Indian community joined locals, to feast and dance, as the City Hall lit up Donegall Square.
Delicious, traditional Indian foods were shared while the audience was wowed by colourful dancers on stage.
The event, organised by Sanjay Ghosh, founder of ImageNation NI, was a huge success.

Windsor Lawn Tennis Club hosted Captain’s Night in support of The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
Club Captain Joan Erwin welcomed guests with a drinks reception followed by a hot buffet.
After the meal there was a ballot with fantastic prizes up for grabs and all the proceeds of this will be going to the Children’s Cancer Unit Charity.
In excess of £1500 has been raised so far.
The excellent Kathmandu provided musical entertainment and guests danced the night away.

Dawn Crothers recently had a solo exhibition in Dawn Crothers Art Studio and Gallery, Belfast.
She launched a series of dog-themed original paintings and limited edition prints.
Guests had mulled wine, hot dogs, festive treats and enjoyed a kid themed art workshop.
There was also a special dog stand by Murphy and Bailey dog products.

Irelands Blue Book, a collection of over 60 historic hotels, manor houses and restaurants all over the island of Ireland, began their 50th year celebrations with their annual hoteliers’ meeting at Dromquinna Manor Estate.
They revealed the 2024 edition of Ireland’s Blue Book as well as welcoming the new additions to the collection: The Estate at Dromquinna Manor, Co. Kerry; Cliff at Lyons, Co. Kildare and Glovers Alley by Andy McFadden, Co. Dublin.
Members from all over Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland met together for a glamorous evening of entertainment and celebrations.

The Canal Court Hotel in Newry was the venue for the fourth Sparkling Afternoon Tea event, hosted by Be Inspired to Be, a book and social media platform, founded by local woman Belinda O’Neill.
The event was attended by over 250 people and over £5,000 was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Among those in attendance were Valeria Harte (Chairperson, Newry, Mourne and Down District Council) and Tracey Hall (Owner, Style Academy).

The creme de le creme of local sporting talent gathered at the Theatre at The Mill in Newtownabbey for the Sports Awards 2023.
Sporting legends, coaches and the budding sporting stars of the future came together for a celebration of Antrim and Newtownabbey’s exceptional sporting talent, clubs and volunteers.

The 30th birthday celebrations of Belfast social media personality and Q Radio presenter, Gerry Lavery, were held in the Galgorm Castle Kitchen and Bar, Ballymena.
The evening, with the theme ‘Death to his 20s’, took place in early November.
While all the guests wore black, the birthday boy dazzled in a feathered, peach-gold blazer as he led the way to the dance floor.
Among the guests were radio presenters Melissa Riddell from Cool FM and Jordan Arnold from Q Radio.
